Welcome to our Farm

People always ask Tom and I how we got started with lavender. The details are a little fuzzy, but as I remember it, a few years ago on a gorgeous summer day, we visited a beautiful lavender farm in Northern Michigan. We were so enchanted with the colors and smells and the bees that, shortly thereafter, we decided to plant lavender on the hillside in front of our home.

 

Not knowing a whole lot about lavender or what we were getting ourselves into, we bought 400 plants that first season. Then 200 the next. With 300 more coming this spring. 

 

We've spent the past few years learning what we need to know to grow, harvest and create with lavender. We've had fun imagining the possibilities and connecting with others doing the same thing. As you can imagine, it's been a lot of work. But it's the kind of work that is so fulfilling. And peaceful. And rewarding. And we've decided to share our little slice of heaven with you.

 

This summer, Tom and I are opening our farm and our new farm store - Peaceful Valley Farms - to guests on select dates during our bloom. We hope you'll visit, stroll among the plants, cut a bundle or two of lavender to take home, and browse our shop for unique items and gifts that will help you take a little serenity home.
